Long Exposure Photography : The long exposure photography technique utilizes a long-duration shutter speed to sharply capture the stationary elements of an image while blurring, smearing, or obscuring moving elements. When a scene includes both stationary and moving subjects (for example, a fixed street and moving cars, or a camera within a car showing a fixed dashboard and moving scenery), a slow shutter speed can cause interesting effects, such as light trails. Long-exposure fine art gallery photography is easiest to attain in low-light conditions. By using neutral density filters or specially designed cameras, however, they can be taken in brighter light conditions. Please see samples of the long exposure photography technique below. HDR : High Dynamic Range Photography (HDRI, or simply HDR) HDR high dynamic range images utilize a set of techniques that allow a greater dynamic range of luminance between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than current standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods. This wide dynamic range of luminous intensity allows high dynamic range images to more accurately represent the range of intensity levels found in real scenes; ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight. Infrared Photography : Infrared Photography Art (IR photography) Silver halides are inherently sensitive to the short, high-energy wavelengths. They can, however, be dye sensitized to longer, lower-energy wavelengths, including infrared. In infrared photography art, IR is normally defined as ranging from 700 nm to 15, 000 nm.
